Podcast Ready for 2nd February Show

On the 2nd new February show, the guest list includes Dr. Susanne Mohr, associate professor of physiology at Michigan State University, discussing how proteins siah-1 and GAPDH can lead to diabetic retinopathy.

The second guest will be Dr. Monique Roy of Newark's University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey explaining how increased caloric and sodium intake can lead to an increased risk of diabetic retinopathy in African-Americans.

First New February Podcast of 2010

For the first new February show, we'll have the Southern College of Optometry's Dr. Glen Steele discussing the InfantSee program, which provides eye examinations for infants between the ages of six and twelve months.

Then, Mark Underwood of Quincy Bioscience will explain how dying retinal cells could be a warning sign for developing Alzheimer's Disease.

Janet Sides is the new host of Eye on Vision. She has been a volunteer at WYPL since 1999. She has now read a grand total of 50 books for the WYPL broadcast radio reading service. We are very happy to have her as the new host of the program.
