Dr. Richard Thompson of the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore explains how calcium phosphate, known as hydroxyapatite, could lead to macular degeneration.

Then, Dr. Jiaxi Ding and Dr. Matthew Pihlblad of the State University of New York at Buffalo discuss the iExaminer adapter, which can be used with an ophthalmoscope and an iPhone to capture images of the back of the eye.
