Harvard Medical School and Schepens Eye Research Institute's Dr. Gang Luo explains how a pocket-sized collision warning device in development can help those with extreme visual impairment.

Then, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center's Dr. Edward Chaum goes over his collaborative research with Oak Ridge National Laboratory concerning a nanoplatform, that can better look like cellular changes in the eye that lead to macular degeneration.  The research is funded by a grant from the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
