On the first September show, Dr. George Williams of William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, discusses the implantable eye telescope that could be used to treat those with macular degeneration.


Also, Michaela Minichello, a student at the University of Dayton, discusses genetic research in aniridia, which is the absence of the iris, and Columbia University student Kara Fields explains research regarding the role of genes in the formation of cataracts.
